The Old Man

The other day I was sitting in a resturaunt
It was just after Memorial Day, and my mind was still on those who gave their lives in battle.
I looked out the window, and there I saw a little old man..
He walked slowly, and was hunched over.
I looked closer at the man walking up to the door.
He had a tattoo on his arm.
It was old, and faded.
'United States Marine Corps' it says.
He wore a Proud American shirt
And a Marine Corps hat.
As I studied the hat it gave me a glimpse into his past.
A Purple Heart, and ribbons decorated his hat.
I started wondering about what all he had been through,
What pain, sorrow, and fear he had gone

so I went to visit my friend, she didn't have me take picture. the day we were going to - the fire from Canada was so bad, we couldn't take pictures. The next day she got burnt, sooo that sucked. I'm still going to use that idea, just don't know what on yet.
